IFS Headquarters

aka The Epic of Grillgamesh

by William H. Games

Who is Grillgamesh?

The Epic of Grillgamesh began as a joke. Once upon a time, a lad played Civilization 6 and chose the character seemed to be the most straightforward, and easy to play: Gilgamesh. Since then, coupled with a few well-timed college classes, the lad developed a minor fascination with Gilgamesh and the Sumerians- all but idolizing and romanticizing the ancient civilization. In the midst of major life changes that shake the lad's core and his very understanding of who he is, the lad has leaned upon the teachings of IFS: a therapeutic model intended to help one understand themselves better. In it, one is expected to anthropomorphize or otherwise "represent" their emotions- more broadly- their *parts*.

The lad once had but four voices. Isabelle, Xavier, Lawrence, and Clyde. These were the first generation of voice to manifest, and would only later become part of IFS.

Later, he would have upwards of 12 at a time, some voices more fleshed out than others and all of them just real enough to create a tangled story. He would experience an alternate timeline, a complex and all too real bastardization of reality. Even the lad didn't know he was hallucinating.

Now, the lad has one. An idealized version of himself. A version of himself he wishes to be, for better or worse. A representation of what he believes he wants to be.

I, am Grillgamesh.

We're gonna make this work. As per the instructions, here is the link to my own website: Check out my page, the IFS Headquarters!
